Educational Opportunities

Wilkes Art Gallery provides many classes, workshops, and camps to Wilkes County and neighboring counties in the northwestern region of North Carolina. From keeping the roots of Wilkes County alive through pottery to introducing modern technique and new mediums, the Gallery strives to provide a well rounded arts education to new and returning students. Each educational opportunity is tailored to a specific age range and experience level, and ranges in price based on what supplies will be used throughout the duration of the class, workshop, and/or camp.

(see below).

Handbuilding and Wheel Classes: Each student will need to purchase a 25 lb. bag of clay. Clay is available for purchase at the Gallery for $20. You may purchase your clay during Gallery hours or at the start of your class. It is recommended that each student brings an apron or dresses appropriately for creating.

During the adult sessions, participants are allowed to bring their own wine or beer (liquor not allowed). During the all ages sessions, children must be accompanied by an adult and alcohol of any kind is prohibited.
