GRASSROOTS GRANTS

In 1977, the North Carolina General Assembly established the Grassroots Arts Program to ensure that every citizen has access to quality arts experiences. The program provides funding for the arts in all 100 counties in North Carolina. 

The Wilkes Art Gallery provides subgrants to qualifying organizations in our county. Follow the link for more information.

ARTIST SUPPORT GRANTS

Artists eighteen years or older residing in Alleghany, Ashe, Watauga, or Wilkes County  who are not enrolled in college or university are eligible to apply for this grant. Grants may be used for a variety of purposes, including the cost of presenting work for exhibits and/or auditions, training or tuition, travel, promotional materials, work facilities, equipment, or the production of new work. Applications are reviewed be representatives from all four counties.
